You are going to have trouble decoding that vin, since it's a medium duty truck. Good luck, it's hard to find info on the heavy equipment.

The 1st 16 #s are the VIN, the rest are what it is, correct? Is it a 1978 F-700?

you might have better luck in the 1973-1979 forum. There are a few medium duty truck "gurus" there.
