My Dennis Carpenter cab supports fit fairly well but no where near perfect. Welding was going to be pretty difficult given all the various gaps. I originally planned to place a couple of temporary bolts to suck it down enough and then said f^*k it I'll bolt the whole thing. I'm going to zip off a portion of the nut and hit each with the welder to retain it. Maybe two layers of insulation. The top lip is 3/16" steel rivets. The lower corner is unfinished until I take care of a little floor rot.
Any tips for placement of the cab mount holes? I figured I'd bolt the rear in place then reach up and mark the center points.
When I did mine, I just used the top rubber piece and bolt for the rear holes. I centered them in the holes and then took measurements at the back. Took measurements in the front and moved it so that each side was equal. Used a reamer bit from underneath and made my initial hole. Stood cab up, finished the hole, cleaned it up, primed, undercoated and then mounted the cab.
