This would one of those times it would be handy to have your location listed in the upper right hand corner. I'd bet there's a couple of guys somewhat close by that have a junk door or parts laying around and would be happy to help you out.
I in agreement with both of the previous posters. I'd try to fix it but then it would also be better to find a replacement part. I don't think you could buy it new but usually the last parts in a door to go bad is the mechanicals. There's plenty of totally rusted out junk doors with these parts.
