I'm considering picking one of these up but not sure if the ones offered on Ebay has everything needed for a 6.0 diesel. For example, I'm looking at one like this: Ebay item Link

Anyone have one of these? I have a laptop already, so will the item listed above be all I need?

Even if that is a chinse clone that is a heck of a price. The clone IIRC was between $500 to $700
A true rotunda ids unit is about $3000.+_
PM bullit he has a VCM II IDS

You also need the IDS software to operate it. I didn't see it on the EBAY ad.

 

The first picture shows a cd. Right next to the add. That is useually where ebay puts their pics if the seller supplies one.

 

The package I can get has the software.
More than likely that one does also.
Just be aware that is all clone.



EDIT : The one think I find that will not work is the wireless function.
The dongle is not installed in the unit and you can bet the same with this one.

You can't
Ford is the only way to update and the new Ver
has a phone home in the software.
I guess you could buy the Ford IDS software and
use it with the clone but if you do that you may
as well but the real IDS and VCM2 from Ford
and have access to all the updates.

I mainly want it to do cyl. contribution tests. I just want to try to make sure that there is everything I need in one package and no surprises. 200 bucks is a far cry from $2000 I see the genuine units go for.
