Purchased a 2012 F250 Diesel a few months ago. Truck runs great and I love it !! Fuel filter change came up on dash. Had them changed. My question is would it be economical to have a fuel filter bypass put on ? Heard it makes them easier to change so I'm assuming it would be less labor which means less cost. I put about 20,000 miles a year on my truck.
I know members like to do this themselves mostly but my dealer charges around $210 to change the fuel filter. I change mine via the dealership every 15,000 miles.
fd 1662, Congrats on the new ride !
The fuel filter change is very easy to do.
Just remember to loosen the lower DFCM housing a couple of turns before you drain it or it wont stop draining !
Other than that the process is very straight forward.
Look in the Tech folder and Epic Cowlick did a nice job of showing us all how to do it.
Enjoy your new truck.
