Got my filters from Geno's..
That had to be the most simple filter change I have ever done....
I cannot believe how much the dealer charges for that service..
When I was done, I was wondering if I had missed something.... no leaks, nothing...
I was expecting a more difficult time with the lid after some of the threads on here about it... I used my small strap wrench and it came right off... old filter was black... Is that normal?
Mine is a brownish & I change it about every 5,000 miles... but I'm pretty sure the stations around me have tons of crud in their tanks, lucky me. I say this b/c I haven't run ANY BD in 2months+
If you run Biodiesel you'll be loosening up the gunk that builds up, and your filter will need to be changed more often than the average 10,000 mile interval. Especially if you run higher than B20.
I actually got a cool filter removal tool from Brian at BTS, makes changes a breeze. The biggest problem people have is installing the beveled gasket upside down and spraying fuel everywhere.
I have to confess.... I have not changed the filter since I got the truck....It had 25K on it when I bought it and am now at 50K.... so 25K at least ....hell...that might have been the original filter.... some "stuff" in the drained fuel as well... I only use #2 from the pumps....plus DK..
I promise..I will not let that happen again.....

Damn... shame on you! LOL Like someone said earlier, you are going to get a nice black filter out of your truck... yuk.
Another question on the F/F... Why the tight change schedule?.... My truck ran fine with no water light, etc.... even after the, uh, extended schedule
I change my fuel filter every 15,000, but I get my fuel at the same place all the time. I know their tanks are clean. These are some great engins, but they like to be pampered. lol
