The socket for my reverse lights is only supplying 9 volts. Unfortunely, I cant find one. The bed is a 78, the socket has 2 wires for an 1156 bulb. I can only find the 3 wires socket (for the brake lights). Anyone know where I can get a reverse light socket??

You should be able to find those at most parts stores. I think I bought mine from O'reillys.
Well, I cant find any for my 76 (which actualy has a 78 bed) However, a socket off a 74 Ford car (Montego I think) will fit. I hope. I'll see tonight as a dealer here had one that I'll pick up after work.

Passenger Cars do not use the same backup lamp sockets. The correct socket is plastic and twists into the one piece molded plastic tail lamp assy.
I already told you (in post 3) which vehicles use the same tail lamps and sockets. Here's the backup lamp socket by itself:
D4TZ-15536-A .. Backup Lamp Socket with pigtailed wires / Obsolete
Applications: 1974 F100/350 Stylesides from serial number T80,001 - 1975/79 F100/350 Stylesides - 1975/91 Econolines - 1978/79 Bronco's.
How many 1975/91 Econolines are there in local wrecking yards?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's the individual tail lamp socket, it was also used on some Passenger Cars as the park lamp socket, ditto for the F100/350's, Bronco's & Econolines:
D1FZ-13234-A .. Socket with pigtailed wires / Obsolete
1974 F100/350 park & Styleside tail lamps from serial number T80,001 / 1975/79 F100/350 park & Styleside tail lamps - 1975/91 Econoline park and tail lamps - 1978/79 Bronco park & tail lamps.
1971/73 Mustang & Pinto park lamps / 1973 Torino/Ranchero park lamps / 1975/78 LTD park lamps / 1976 Pinto park lamps.
Yes, I realize that you told me what socket will be a direct replacement. however, I was unable to get it here. And I realize the passenger car one is not an exact replacement. However, the PN I am looking at (and I dont have it on my now) shows a socket that has the same type of tabs and will (hopefully) screw into the lense. Since I already ordered it I'll see if it fits. If it doesn't I'll google search the PN you listed and see where I can get it.
No, I haven't tried a wrecking yard yet, I'm sure i would probably find one there but I have not had time to go look.
Adding this for future viewers, I picked up these GM plugs and they fit my 76 Ford F150 with slight modification. Just pinch off the 3 metal barbs, xacto blade the tailight a little and you'll have a snug fit
