Starter problem
Gave it a try today ,just got finished and tried it , nothing happened . Think I might have it hooked up backwards. I've got 12 volts on the first battery cable hookup, but nothing going through to the other post. Just my luck .Try it again friday . If I don't have to work overtime. The Ford solenoid has two small posts not sure which to use for the 12 volt lead to the solenoid on the starter.
The two small posts are usually marked "I" and "S". "I" is ignition, a connection that is only hot while cranking, usually only used with points that have a ballast resistor in the line. "S" is the wire from the starter button (12v).
The small terminal on your starter goes to the same big terminal on the solenoid as the big cable to the starter, if you are going to hook it up like I did.

Got to lookin at my Ford solenoid ,the plastic had a crack in it from the s terminal all the way up and it seperated from the metal bracket completely when I tugged on it. New one coming tomorrow. I had this one a couple years must have dry rotted.
Finally got out to put the new solenoid on and give it a try. Worked every time now!!!! Thaks for the help ALBUQ F1 ,couldn't have got it without your help. Now on to the next problem. Hooking up my radiator fan to my Ron Francis Ice Box kit.
