Looking at a local owned 2011 f150 xlt with 5.0 2wd with 81,000 miles and was wondering about reliability and performance. Own a 99 z71 and looking to go back to ford. I am going to test drive tomorrow evening. Feel free to leave experiences or feedback.
Should have included I am new to the forum and looking to joining the ford family. Any advice or information is welcomed. I am on a budget so looking at purchasing used for right.
I have a 2011 XLT 5.0 Supercab but its a 4x4. Currently 66,000 miles and I bought it new. Its been back to the dealer once for warranty. I replaced the front pads and rotors at 59,000 miles. Otherwise, just a set of tires, oil changes and gasoline. Over the last 12,000 miles it is averaging 17.4 mpg.
The local dealer has done all service work and other than routine maintenance rotors have been replaced. I have 3 kids and 2 play ball so I need something dependable, comfortable and good on has for a full size truck.
Good pick. I own the same year XLT 4x4 screw. Love mine. Only 25k though but nary an issue. Quiet truck, better ride than my 02 screw. Mpgs with the 5.0 consistently exceed 17 mpg in town and 21-23 mpg highway. It's a good rig and should last a whole bunch of miles more.
They sold the truck before I could see it in person. They let me test drive a 2007 lariat screw 4x4 with 98,000 miles and emaculate condition in my budget. I'm getting them to run some numbers on their new ones to see if rebates and incentives can put me close to budget but if not I may consider the 07 being I have a son turning 21 in 3 years and would make a great 1st truck. What is anyone's opinion on the 07.
I had on 08 Lariat SCREW with the 5.4 V8 & max tow package. It was a great truck. I did a lot of towing & hauling with it and never had an issue. The services due at 100K were kind of expensive. I did a tune up, anti-freeze, transmission service and brakes. I don't remember the exact cost however I think it was just under 2K. You'll want to make sure the truck is up to date on these items.
The tune-up can be expensive if they have trouble removing the plugs. Mine came out fine, however my niece had 3 plugs break. She had hers done at a local shop that didn't have the tool to remove the plugs, so she had to have it towed to a ford dealer. All said and done her tune-up was almost $800.
My niece has an 07 FX4 she uses to tow her horses. She just rolled 150,000 with no issues, other than the plugs.
