I pulled my starter off and found a plate riveted to the block just above it with this code on it and cant find any thing that tells me what it means. Can any one help me?

I found a page with casting numbers but they start with letters.

The more I look around at Castin numbers the more I think something wierd is going on here....Those numbers are impossible.
Also, after looking at pictures of casting numbers there are all stamped into the block. This was a riveted plate right above the starter it was not stamped into the block. The plate looked just like the stamped block but it had rivets. The only thing that makes sense is the 6015 . The 75zy would not give a year and claims its a mustang motor from lincoln/mercury parts
. That is if im reading the codes correctly.
Can any one help figure out what the heck I have here

Well,
That would make sense then...the tag is riveted and the Lincoln/mercury parts engineering code on the second half or the 75zy would be justified by that... Odd ...did they put these motors in as original?
Isn't Mercruiser a boat motor?

Yea Mercruiser is a boat engine...would not think that they was used in vehicals...
not sure if you could lookup that code... you might check on boatered ....they should be able to tell you if it is a mercruiser
The reason I know that they have a rivited tag..I just changed starter on our boat..after hanging upside down for 30mins..getting starter out...I had pleanty of time to look around down there...LOL

I am just hoping you have gotten the answer to your block serial number. I too have the same number on my block and have been trying to id it. Although the number on mine is stamped into the block.

That second link explains where and when it from thanx alot for the info.....I have since replaced the engine with a different 68 but plan on rebuilding the old.

I had a 302 mexican block I built for my '69 'stang. 
More beef in the main web area I know for sure. Not sure if there are any other differences but I would rev mine to 7800 RPM on a regular basis with no problems.

Pull the intake and look in the lifter valley. In big letters it should say "Made In Mexico" if it's a true Mexican block. And also if you turn the mexican block upside down with the pan off and set it beside a regular 302 you will definately see a difference in the mains. The Mexican block is much stouter. A buddy of mine has one and they are worth a few extra bucks
