Just a suggestion. I’m assuming that you have the Automatic Climate Control. You might want to go to a Ford Parts site and look at the HVAC diagram for the part. I’m assuming that you bought the blend door motor for the Defrost/Panel/Floor Door [Part# 19E616B (YH-1925)]?

<O</O

From the diagram it seems to be mounted on the end of the HVAC duct systems. Just above the driver’s floor heat nozzle.

<O</O

The only module I see on the Duct System is for the fan motor speed. All the motors (actuators) are powered by the HVAC module (It could be behind the glove box?? <O</O
<O</O

The Defrost/Panel/Floor Actuator also has a feed back circuit so the climate control system knows what is going on.

Interesting! I would think if you operate the door in manual with the blower on low you would hear the motor, if you do, from the diagram I would maybe suspect the linkage.

Thanks! And yes that is the part I ordered and that is the issue I am having. I don't hear anything when in switch the mode on manual. It's silent. I also have the part diagram from the dealer. So I have a basic idea where it is but with things like this you want to be sure what the problem is and roughly how difficult a task it is before ripping into the dash. I am just not sure if it's the HVAC control or the motor. I leaned toward the motor (hence I bought it) because everything else works fine, including the temperature adjustment.

Well, update. I pulled it apart myself and the mode door actuator was not moving the doors. The motor was trying to move the actuator but no dice. I could reach in and feel the vent door and manually couldn't open it all of the way, even with all of the actuator arms unhooked. So I am pretty sure something has fallen down from the upper dash and has wedged itself behind the door preventing it from working. Anyway, I tried forcing it using the actuator (nothing to lose because at that point it all had to come out anyway) to see if I could cause the obstruction to dislodge itself but instead the cable actuator broke from inside the depths of the plenum. So now I have to pull the entire plenum out all the way back to the firewall. Ugh. What a huge job that is going to be!

Anyway, for those of you who read this, run out now and check your dash for any objects that could fall down inside the ductwork and jam up your mode doors because it's a time consuming and costly fix!
