I have been trying to figure out which front axle and differential my new truck has. Its an 84 F250 with a 302 and a 4 speed. I'm not sure which model tranny it has, either. I have used vin decoders and they just tell me year/model/trim/ and engine, which I already know. The tags on the units can't be read, but I did find a tag attached to the firewall under the hood. Here it is:
From my 84 250
First line: 2065PA 3L 9V-D
Second line: IHLULS 2M M
Third Line: 26A99201 4 5XTA
I know some of this is part of the Vin, but some seems different. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Assuming nothing has been changed since new, what you need to look at is the door tag on the driver's side b pillar. To figure out what it means, go here Ford Door Sticker Decoder - Ford Trucks
Thanks. I took a picture of the door sticker, but I think its for a different year range than the link you sent me for the decoder. I'll poke around for a 1984 decoder.
