I recently purchased a 66 F100 w/ 352. The cam is shot and leak down test was 50% leakage, or better, on each cylinder so I'm going to rebuild. I have the engine out and disassemblied down to pulling the harmonic balancer off. I bought a puller from Sears but the bolts with the puller do not fit the balancer. Can any one tell me the bolt size for the 3 bolt holes in the balancer?

The 3 bolts have nothing to do with retaining the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft. Once the 3 bolts are removed, the balancer is still bolted to the crankshaft.
Harmonic balancer includes a single sheave pulley. Ford offered single, double and triple sheave accessoryouter pulleys that bolt to the balancer (ONLY!) to add P/S and/or A/C.
So...these 3 bolts are only present if there are accessory outer pulleys. The 3 bolts are 3/8" -16 x 1.00" long. 3/8" is the thread size, not the wrench size.
Pic: Remove the 355721-S bolt (5/8" -18 x 1 1/2" long ~ 5/8" is the thread size, not the wrench size). The balancer comes off the crank along with the accessory outer pulleys.
Notice the 2 different sizes/types of keyways on the crank. One is used to retain the balancer & spacer in place, the other is used to retain the crank gear in place.
Bill, those 3 bolts I listed are to be used to pull the damper off the crankshaft snout. The Sears puller does not come with that particular size as I have the same one. I needed to go out and buy the correct size in order to make the puller work. That is what the OP is talking about and I know since I pulled my damper off 2 months ago and just happen to have it sitting around to look at. We are not talking Ford bolts here.
Ah ha, now I see what you're talking about. But what is the OP talking about? Does his truck have the accessory outer pulley's that are retained to the balancer with 3 bolts?

Well he says he has the engine disassembled down the damper on the crank. I would assume that the pulley is already off at which case all one would need to do is take that bolt down to the hardware store and match it with a longer one. Yet, since he asks which size bolt then maybe there are no 3 bolts nor a pulley. Your guess is as good as mine.
I'm new to this forum, or any other for that matter. Is it ok to ask my next questions regarding my tear down here or should I start another thread?
Here are my questions (I will move to another thread if needed):
1. Main bearing caps 3 and rear do not want to come free. any hints on removal?
2. Camshaft does not want to come out, any hints on removal? I read in Steve Christ's Big Block book that waiting until pistons and crank are out may help. Any other thoughts?
