EDGE Programmer Opinion
#1 is, I wasn't looking for big power gains, 6.7 has plenty of power, so I have not downloaded the high power tune. I was hoping for some fuel economy gains so my first tune loaded was the economy tune, this was basically a wash, very little if any gain. So, when I hooked up to a big 5th wheel I loaded the towing tune, this one did seem to help the towing fuel economy a little, picked up maybe 1 to 1.5 mpg and it works better without using tow/haul than it used to, less gear hunting on hills.
After that I just have left the towing tune on it and the empty fuel economy has remained about the same as it was with the economy tune.
One of the best things it has allowed me to do is adjust the tire setting which corrected my odometer making it a little easier to calculate the fuel economy.
One screwy deal about it is that apparently, edge has all of their tunes set with the default setting for the 1-6 gear indicator as "off", I have to turn the doggone thing on every time I start the truck, really annoying.
Whether you should get one just depends on what you want or expect from one.
