My starter turns over faster when it's less that 60 degrees outside, it doesn't matter if the engine is hot or cold. When it's 70+ usually the speed varies. Batteries and alt. tested fine. I doubt my starter is going bad because when its less than 60 degrees it sounds like a brand new starter. Any ideas AT ALL???
I had a starter once (not on my 6.0) that turned over faster cold versus warm. The starter ended up being bad and any extra heat would "saturate" the windings enough to notice. A new starter cured it.
I also had another one with the same symptoms, the case bolts on the starter loosened up. Just cinched the bolts back down and problem was gone.

Where are those bolts on the 6.0, do you know? Seems like that would be a good place to start before I go replacing the starter.
