this last email showed a CAB CRANE that was posted by Jim Rizzo at CLASSICTRUCK magazine. really nice design that most of use could build or have built and it's a safe way to do the cab removal... sure beats my cherry picker and landscape timbers... here's a link
I admire ingenuity, but that doesn't look like the way to do it. His boom extension bent with the load of a Model A cab?? Raytasch on here lifted his with an unmodified cherry picker by lifting from the floor of the cab (cab mount holes), a much safer way IMO.
An easier way to lif a cab is by lifting thru the side window. just put a straight extension on your engine hoist, either wood or pipe. It is high enough about the center of gravity that it will not be balancing,
You can put a piece of wood through both windows with blocks so it can't slide and something to keep your boom extention centered ish.
Not wanting to hijack the thread but since Ross mentioned it, I'll throw the picture back up. The secret is using chains and adjustable links of some kind to maintain a level even load on the cab. My hoist is a larger unit and it did the job with ease. I also used it to remove and install a front clip from the F4. Truly, a one man job.
I just bought a 6 pack and had 3 friends come over. With one guy on each corner, we just picked it up and walked it back having removed the bed the night before.

I did it the same way but had 4 friends over - I directed while they did the heavy lifting ! Works really well
