Special tool to remove Ignition control module

Anyone know where I can get that tool?

Or is there a socket small enough to fit in the little holes?

It's the flat control module all Ford gassers have, that plugs right under the distributor. Mine failed last year on a trip, got a junk yard one for cheap just to get me home, and owner lent me his special tool to replace it, but now that one is dying again.

The original TFI modules (introduced 1983) used Torx headed screws that required a thin shanked Torx driver to remove them.

I recall in 1983, a scramble among mechanics trying to get this tool from their usual suppliers (Mac's/Snap-On etc.).

Any of the auto parts stores will have it as well as any of the tool companies.

I have one of these in my toolbox:

A thin walled deep 5.5mm socket works too.

This cheap 1/4" drive deep socket set from amazon works. It's the 7/32" size, the second-smallest in the set, that fits the screw down in the module.
