Im trying to repalce the ign. contrl. mod. on my 86 bronco II 2.9, as you know its a bear to get at and i dont know what type or size of tool I need for the screws and of course I cant see it. So if someone can just tell me what type of tool to use Id appreciate it
Are you sure it's the ignition? The stator assembly in the distributor could be bad. The early TFI igniton distr's were equipped with a rubber on the stator connector that would crack and short out the wire terminals. If the stator is good, you should get a test light to blink when probing the negative side of the coil when cranking.
