How much trouble is it to replace TFI module?

How much trouble is it to replace TFI module?
The book says to remove the dist. to service the TFI module. Is there any way to remove it with the dist. still in place? The screws that hold it on the dist. are real close to the fire wall. Can they be removed while the dist. is still in the motor?

yes you can remove the tfi module without removing the distributor. you need a ford ignition module tool to remove torx screws you have two of them just go into any autoparts store and look for a ford module tool cost is like 5bucks,
