Tuning/CEL help
I get the standard KAM and overboost cel's but I got a new one today. P1249: Waste Gate Control solenoid. Im wondering if this is because of the overboost (24psi) or is the WGC actually having an issue.
More details: I have a Big Head pot on it. I read the instructions on how to adjust it but didnt have the pull pressure tool. So I made the rod the same length as the stock one. (I recently read that I need to supply 15 in. of vacuum to the pot and make the rod length easily slip on the wastegate lever. Have not done that yet.)
I also notice that when full throttle, the power seems to die during shifts. I understand this may be part of the algorithm to save parts but the shift seems to be later as well.
So, my question is this: Should I replace the WGC solenoid?...or is this expected behavior with some stock parts and a tune.
Also, is the reduction in power during shifts normal or a product of the WGC issue??
