Tired from another long day at work but otherwise doing good, been working on the cancer patient little by little this week and tomorrow I will have it safe to use the road once I get it a cv axle, a rotor, and a caliper that's not locked up, Some idiot who calls himself a mechanic put on a new set of pads and a rotor on one side but for some reason when he put it back together couldn't tell or didn't care about the fact that it was locked up to the point that flooring the thing up a hill in second barely made it do 55 mph. Anything interesting happen to you man? Sorry if I was a little long winded there I know I do some of this from time to time.
That sucks. But good to hear it will be back up and running. Right now my whole office is running bare bones while they rip the floor up in the old ( and larger) part of the office. Sono windows to lookout and watch the freshmen coeds walk past right now.
Yeah the sad part is I know who did the work and I used to work for him so I'm gonna go back to him tomorrow and ask if he did it or his retard of a mechanic that comes in late half the time. Not a bad view but no fun to hear people are tearing up the office, mean you gotta duck and cover and watch your step for your own safety and theirs if you know what I mean.
Pretty much. we are undergoing an expansion and much needed renovations and updates. I have more cables and wiring hanging from the ceiling then I can count. The current dispatch workstation is 2 6 foot long tables next to each other. Should be back in the larger side in the next few weeks. They have to sand the concrete floors smooth from old adhesive. I have to get rear pads for my truck soon. They are getting close to replacement time. Figure replace them before winter gets here and I lose my open air garage until spring.
I agree especially if you have drum brakes, get them out of the way now while its warm. I can safely say drum brakes are one of the few brake jobs I dread just because of how big of a pain they are. Gotta love renovations, at least when its done it will be a much nicer place to work.
I have 4 wheel disc. Only drum brakes are the parking brakes and those are a drum in hat set up. Yeah It will be nicer and more modernized. They are already getting some of teh new electronics in for us to use.
The new stuff is always nice to have and use, Yeah I kinda figured that after I actually looked at your signature ride. Still, its better to get it out of the way before its cold outside than to do it when its 20 degrees out and there is a foot of snow around your truck. Honestly I think this winter might be one of those winters where there is nothing but snow after snow after snow.
Thats what I am thinking. Fronts were done not that long ago and just the rears are original. Was just pricing out some pads for it. Rotors are still in great shape for the rear. No issues from them. Also have to swap out the bad winch on my truck for its warranty replacement.
Last time I checked them the rotors were fine. No grooves what so ever. almost 71K on the original rear pads isnt too bad.
Not bad man especially for a newer truck. You must be light footed on the old brake petal. Heck my truck being a stick I only use it during a quick stop or just getting the truck to slow up, rest of the time its just gear down and let it roll. Well night for now, I gotta pass out to so I can get up at 3:45 in the morning so I can go to work one more day this week.
I learned to be light footed on the brakes when I was driving my first truck. That was had an old four on the floor. Downshift to slow down then use the brakes when you had to stop. Otherwise just planning out the stops so I can just let the truck slow down on its own without having to use the brakes as much. Have a good one. I will have just fallen asleep at that point in time.
