Hey can someone explain to me what exactly the ccv mod does, obviously it stands for crank case vent im guessing> so is that all it is? does it take place of something? does it increase performance? it looks like a good thing< id just like to know the technical aspect of it!
The CCV mod is pretty simple. The factory vent vents into the intake. This causes an accumulation of oil vapor in your intake, intercooler pipes, etc. This has been known to cause boots to get worn out and blow off and things of the like. The CCV mod removes the facory vent and replaces it with a 4" piece of pipe. You then simply turn the "doghouse" around and attach a longer piece of hose to it and run it under the truck. With Clay's kit it runs to under or just behind the cab. If you are feeling spunky you can add enough hose to run it to the back of the truck or fabricate a catch can for the drips of oil that will come out of the end of the hose. Doesn't increase performance, more of a preventative mod. Hope this helps!
