Heard a f250 yesterday that had a horn like a tractor/ trailer. Are any of you guys adding such a thing? Sounded kinda good. If so how are you doing it? Are you adding a new button for the new horn or disabling the stock horn and making the connections that way, so when you hit the normal steering wheel horn the air horns go off. I have a book that says my horn is over the right front tire but under the fender well. Got to be an easier way than removing all that including the heavy *** tire. Just a thought, may change my mind if to much work. Thanks
Have my train horns mounted on the Frame, I have my air compressor hooked to my aux 1 switch and the horn activation is aux 2. Still have my factory horn on the steering wheel
while i'm not from this forum i own an 1969 camper special. I'm adding airhorns under my hood to replace my inop duel electrics I have a set on my motorcycle and they sound great.
I love my train horns, don't really use it much but when I do people move...I have it connected so it works with my stock horns but I added a cut off switch.
The train horn you guys are speaking of. Is that the same sound or horn I'm talking about? I'm interested in the tractor/ trailer sound. Thanks
This is not ment to be a smart a$$ comment. But the train horns are not and air horn like a big rig. They sound just like a train I have shockers and so you could search them Or Nathan's air chime and hear the sound
There are a lot of sounds the air horns can make. A lot of us go for the train horn sound, but a big rig is a single air horn, instead of three tuned to sound like a train horn. Most of the sites that sell them let you listen to sample sounds. The good ones are large and you need to mount them under the truck on the frame. The stock horn is under the wheel well and it is a minor PITA to get to. Loud horns are illegal in some areas so it is good to keep the stock horn and have a separate horn button for the air horn. I only use my train horn for goofing around
Thanks guys, didn't mean to be stupid but when I asked about tractor/ trailer horns what I got was info on train horns. That was the reason for my confusion.
