I understand that to pull subject you merely need to insert a small punch in to the hole on the bottom side of the steering shroud, slanted towards the switch. I have found the hole but can not feel what it is that I'm supposed to press to release the switch. My purpose in needing to remove is that the key is stuck in the switch. The rod is not disconnected as the switch does turn and I removed the lower shroud for a visual. That said, can anyone advise as to what may be keeping the switch from being removed?
Old Trusty: Did you put the needle noses on the key itself? As for the hole in the bottom of the shroud....Am I supposed to be pushing, turning, or flipping something?
Key should be in the run position, push-up on the release pin in the bottom and pull the cylinder out. Yes I put the pliers in the keys lot but my chrome key guard was broken off. I had a lot more problems than the YouTube videos show I had to wiggle it around to get it to come out. I also had to tap the new one into place cuz it got bound in at an angle.
