My truck has been running horribly lately; no power, running rough, constant code p0261, lots of black smoke from the exhaust, terrible turbo lag and very poor fuel economy.
turns out the FICM had failed. I ordered a repaired FICM from Ed at FICMrepair.com with a PHP eco tune.
While I had the truck down, I returned the ECM to the stock tune, updated the firmware version on my SCT tuner with SRL tune from Matt at gearheads, I also did the procedure to erase the Keep alive memory on the ECM and let the VGT solenoid relearn its position and I installed the DC power alternator that was recently shipped back to me from being repaired.
With the new FICM installed, I let the VGT learn its position then re-flashed the ECM with SRL tune.... WOW this truck is a beast again ! NO turbo lag, I can roast the rear tires from take off and DC power alternator is charging at 13.97V. Hopefully the fuel mileage will improve too
