7.3 wire short

7.3 wire short

I have a 1989 f 250 that randomly shuts down. While investigating, I found a rat's nest near firewall on drivers side. Now the red with green stripe fused wire on passenger side that goes to the injection pump is shorting out (smoke). What is causing this? I think I found all of the bear wires and insulated those. Btw new member and new to me truck. Thanks for the help

that's your trigger wire to tell every thing your key is on, I would jump a wire with a fuse on it from your battery straight to your pump with the green red unhooked. if you blow your fuse the short is in the pump, if not it is in your harness.

Everything is ok with injection pump solenoid. Now I am leaning towards gp. Started smoking by gp engine temperature sensor. Can it short out? Or is it in the gp controller/relay?
