While driving down the road it feels like the steering wheel is ever so slightly fighting me when moving it to the left. It's like when I'm riding the right edge of a lane and go to move the wheel slightly left to move to the center of the lane, the steering wheel doesn't want to move. Give it just a hair more pressure and it moves. No problems in the opposite scenario of going to the right. Then while going straight it will without warning at any random moment it feels as if someone grabbed the steering wheel and yanked it an inch or two to the right or left.
Anyone ever experience this, it's a new one on me.
Check your ball joints and all moving steering parts on that side. It sounds like a bushing or joint is bad. Looks for slung grease and cracked/missing boots on the joints.

Thanks, been there done that. I'm leaning toward a leaking seal inside the steering gear as a possibility. But I was hoping some here experienced this and could provide some insight.
As you suspect... Rack and pinion assembly. Maybe a seal. Maybe a valve. Can't be certain. Just replace it; you will spend less time, headache & $$$ when its all said n done. These aren't easily diagnosed or repaired without specialized equipment most repair shops don't have because replacing is cheaper.
Mine is doing the similar thing. Found the coil spring busted on the passenger side. Haven't changed it yet but it drops that side a bit which I am assuming will change the camber and alignment. A broken spring is hard to see unless you look carefully.

I hope this helps.
Changed the spring in the shock and the steering is much better. Unfortunately while I was under there i found the u joint buggered in the shaft from the transfer case to front axle. Grrrr!
No I haven't dug into it yet. The wife has been driving it every day so it hasn't been available to me, so in the meantime I'm researching possible causes.
