I've been using my SGII for about four months now, mainly to monitor ECT,EOT, FICM, and Voltage. Occasionally I will run a code scan, just to see if it picks up anything. What I've noticed recently, when I push the scan button, it will momentarily flash what looks like "2 codes stored" then immediately flashes "No Codes Stored". DTC also reads 0. Do you think there might actually be some codes that the SGII isn't picking up? Anyone else notice this at all? Anyway, I was thinking about stopping by the Autozone this afternoon and having them perform a diagnostic on it, just to see if they can pull codes. I've read that the SGII really doesn't do too much as far as reading codes is concerned. Will I only see codes with the SG if I see a CEL on the dash?
Most generic code scanners I tried did not grab the enhanced Ford codes. When I used Auto Enginuity with the Ford bundle, I was able to display the DTC's that SGII could not.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll prolly have my truck in the shop for some warranty work sometime in the next few weeks, maybe I'll have them take a look while it's in there.
