E4OD trans swap
I have a 1996 f250 7.3 powerstroke 4x4. Trans went out. I found a used trans on craigslist for $250 with 135k on it. But it's out of a 1995 f250 7.5 gas 4x4. Both are E4OD. Will the one from the 1995 gas bolt up to my 1996 diesel? And will the transfer case bolt up correctly? Thanks

I don't think it will. If I remember correctly, the housing is different for the diesel transmissions. Check Ebay if you just need to get by for now. There are "rebuilt" ones for the 94-97 7.3 that are a $1k or less. They aren't performance, but they will get someone by until something else can be done.
