Future CC-SCS Prerunner Build Thread
Fixed the pictures in the post.
The new top end I've mentioned from getting at the junkyard for $110 out the door. D0VE-C heads, Manley guide plates, Crane roller rockers, ARP studs throughout, Isky cam and lifters, unknown but nice pushrods. Heads have been built with seats cut and new double springs and everything seemed to be low mileage by how clean the underside of the valve cover and combustion chambers looked.

Scored this sweet Cobra AM/FM/CB/PA shaft radio that has a remote mounted plug for the CB mic and a 2 way antenna tuner box.

Also from yet another JY trip I found these Brake Guard 400 canisters, never seen them before but I'm into oddball products to see if they actually work so these will be going on the Crew.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I regret not doing any Stopping Distance testing before the Hydroboost conversion and rear disk as there was a very notable difference. I will be doing distance testing as the truck sits and after the Brake-Guard installation and again with the installation of an aftermarket proportioning valve.
Will see about doing brake distance tests with his truck, it will also be getting all new pads, shoes, bearings etc. He really came to the rescue during the fiasco of our move when my box truck lost it's Injection Pump so the HB conversion is on me as my way of returning the favor.
One of the other trucks I work on is a 73 F100 and I threw in the reman dual diaphram booster out of my SCS parts truck, just that was a nice upgrade for a daily driver truck but nowhere near the HB setup.
After my ZF5 swap I've been running a crappy 12gal Poly tank in the bed so I am excited to have a larger capacity and a fuel gauge again, gonna feel spoiled. Installing the tank will require me to move both the rear cross members farther apart from each other. And got an aftermarket inline fuel filter that takes a large screw on canister filter.
Also a while back I got a full 3" leaf spring setup for the rear with the lower style front hanger. Got them off a Supercab parts truck that Ryan (79Supercab) was getting rid of. These will be going on at the same time as the fuel tank install so I can be sure all the cross members and rear shackle mounts will work in harmony. There was an aftermarket set of overload springs mounted to the top of the main leaf, I only kept the main/mounting leaf from these so I can make them my new lower airbag pads and have my bags "Float" instead of being affixed to the leaf pack/axle. The reason for this is so the bags are no longer a hinderance to the axle Drooping/Flexing and will still be there when I haul. I searched for these springs/hangers specifically for the lower style mounts that put the spring eye lower than the bottom edge of the frame and will give me some lift and wanted 3" so I can find a set of the Deaver rear springs for a 78-79 Bronco. Depending how much lift the Deavers have I may change to Spring-under with longer shackles for more suspension travel.
Trying to get a set of doors off a 75 F-600 so I can have the different outer door handles and make my own interior panels without needing the doors on the truck. Being able to get these is dependent on me making some side money this week which probably won't happen as I am Stay-At-Home-Dad now with my wife working at the Capitol.
Phew, that's enough rambling for now.
Was hoping to do the Fuel Tank and Spring Swap this weekend but had too much go wrong and kill my time frame so I did little things on it which I need to take pictures of for everyone.
Swapped LEDs into my Tail Lights, Reverse Lights, Gauge Cluster (Blue and previously removed the caps in it) and put one in my Engine Compartment Light.
Swapped my Subwoofer from an Eclipse to a Kaption Audio (Canada's finest) in order to try it out and since I haven't built a box for my Treo yet. Removed the Pheomix Gold Outlaw Amp as it was having some issues and my buddy wants to put it in the PG section of his Audio Museum, threw in an older Alpine V12 2/3/4 until I get something I actually want in there.
The Kaption Audio Sub is certainly a quality speaker, it's in a Bass-Worx ported enclosure and hits surprisingly clean and hard, neither of which I was expecting after seeing the modest sized magnet (I'm used to 50lb+ 12" Subs).
