Might be kind of difficult but if you can get a couple shots of the pedal a little zoomed out and how it's all set up I'd appreciate it. I'm having a hard time picturing what's going on down there. Otherwise thanks for the write up. I figured it would be a pretty straight forward swap but I haven't seen any good write ups on ZF swaps.

I am currently 160 miles from where my truck is parked at my dads as I'm driving/working on his little Toyota pickup since it gets 25+ mpg on a bad day.

Will see if I can transfer over some pictures of a buddies swap. He did the ZF swap in his 78 4X4 with 300 I6 and since he still has a Vacuum Booster it would be useful to more people compared to my placement with Hydroboost.

These are all from a friends 1978 4X4 F-150 with 300 I6 that he put a ZF5 in. This is just his beater farm truck so he slapped it together with scrap metal.

I know of 4 people who have done the ZF swaps in these trucks, this truck is just the only set of pictures I have on hand.

Sorry about the horrible drop off in updates, been working 16hrs a day on average hustling parts and doing any side work I can get my hands on. Have put 5,000 miles on the little Toyota the last 2.5 months.

Haven't even seen the crew cab and really miss it

Was at a junkyard a few weeks ago pulling a 78 Bronco seat bracket for another forum member, saw the intake was missing and it had a 460. So I looked a little closer and noticed it had ARP head studs, pulled the breather and saw a Manley Guide Plate inside, removed the valve covers and was overjoyed to see that the D0VE-C heads had been build with aftermarket springs with seats cut for the valve springs and the best part... Full set of aluminum roller rockers.

So for the sum of $110 I left with.

Clean, low mileage, built D0VE-C heads.
Manley guide plates.
Aluminum roller rockers with studs and locks.
ARP head studs.
ARP exhaust studs.
Isky camshaft and lifters.
Jacobs ignition.
And the seat bracket for my customer. SCORE!!!!!

It was, rare I get anywhere near that lucky.

Just trying to collect little things for my truck when I see them as I'm in the junkyards every day pulling for customers anyway.

Do you run a yard, or do you have some other business?

I am a Parts Puller for a living. I hit every yard between Tumwater and Arlington Wa. Keeps me busy.

Today was the first day at a "part time" job in Everett, 10hrs a day Mon-Wed. Lot of driving as I live in Olympia.

Just stumbled across this thread. Nice to see one & a bunch of pics of the build.

Congrats one the little one! They can be time bandits for sure, and I know mine keeps me from the crew build quite a bit as I just stare at her & play with her, but I wouldn't give it up!

Also good you know you're a parts puller, had no clue! I've go a couple things in mind for the crew I'll shoot you a PM about to see what you think we may run price wise.

There's still a lot more I need to add to the thread but I've been super busy lately.

Started a new job Mon at a company that specializes in Toyota Land Cruisers, owner/boss was pleased with my work so he's paying me a little more than we originally agreed as my minimum. Also had planned for me to work 2 or 3 days a week and he offered full time employment, starting next week I'll be working 5 10s a mere 135 miles from home. I am impressed with the work the shop does so I'm happy to be there, helped install a $3,500 Kaymar rear bumper from Aus and the shop is booked 6 months out on their Extremely detailed diesel swaps. Never seen so many imported vehicles and parts in one place.

Will still be parts pulling on the weekends in order to supplement my income and help keep these wonderful old Fords on the road.

Will try and take some pictures of the new top-end that's going on the motor. Also picked up a 40 gallon fuel tank with everything to mount it Aft-Axle in my truck so I can get rid of the Poly tank in the bed and have a Fuel Gauge again.

Here's a couple random photos having to do with the truck, simply for the fact I hate how dead my own build thread has been lately.

Had a couple people ask me about the model number of my front Bilstien shocks so here it is.

Also scored 3 of these Center Seats, believe they are 2005-ish. Debating on making my rear seat out of all 3 of these but it seems a bit ridiculous.

My neighbors landscaper kicked up a rock and blew my window out, I was NOT happy and he paid for me to replace it...

I was dinking around one day and figured I would see if my current suspension setup will flex at all, this is more for a laugh.
