Thanks to all who gave input during my HPOP woes. After replacing the fuel line that I doinked and one last trip to the dealer for seals on the other fuel line that decided that I need just one more small project before all was said and done, The old girl runs like a champ!!! Funny thing is that on my last OA , they found aluminum and copper to be on the high side, and thought that could be from piston wear. Since then I had started noticing a lack of power, and also the fact that when I had her tuned all the way up, I wasn't getting any black smoke. Well, the HPOP must've been going bad for a while, because the old girl was smoking more than my wife does and had ALL kinds of power. When I got home from my test ride, I got out of the truck with a smile on my face. The wife asks, "What's wrong?" I reply that my Service Engine Soon light was on, she says, "sonofa... now what???" Then I remind her of how the light goes on from too much turbo boost, so it's a good thing for a change. She still doesn't understand why I'm the only one she knows that's happy when the light comes on.
GIDDY UP!!! Thanks again everyone!!
Cool...I always wondered why that light would come on in the 120 position for a minute at a time after a spirited take off :-)
I didn't know this either. I hammered down the other day with a trailer in tow and was bellowing smoke when the light came on for about 30 seconds then went off. I didn't pull the code but everything seemed ok to me.
