not a truck related problem but I have to vent.. well i kinda knew it was comin, but i cant still believe it...i launched at a red to green light and covered a beamer with smoke that was tailgaiting me and after about a minute i seen the cherries. the officer was very ignorant giving me hell about my farmer tags and i told him i needed more power to pull equip and hay and stuff and my programmer takes care of it. hence the smoke. he didnt want to budge and said a "chip" would never do that. basically i told him when you add more fuel you get black smoke. i got to the point where if i said any more it would be ignorant anyway, so i shut up. wow im fired up. so in a nut shell, be careful out there fellas, not every one likes the show we put on.
so did you get a ticket? sounds liek you got an "end of the month" cop. no worries, the DOD cops are starting to give some of the guys on post hell for smokin too. its alright though, the guy they nabbed was in a 12 valve cummins that smoked more than a care on fire.
So what was the actual infraction he cited you for? Whats it gonna cost you? Sounds pretty stupid to me!
thats what i am wondering... i have pulled away from a redlight heavy footed with a cop in plain view and have not been hassled. i am sure my time is coming though. just yesterday i passed a slow moving station wagon and completely covered him in smoke... i think he was flashing his lights but i couldnt tell!
(BTW... yea that 17* pump is doing a wonderful job)
i have yet to have a problem, even the gate guards at work compliment the truck and the stacks, even had one tell me to get on it... dont know if he was joking or not but i did not.
Oh I do......fuel economy has taken a pretty serious hit here lately
Used to be fun to black out an intersection, now it's even more fun blacking out the interstate since the smoke rolls directly into the windshield of whatever's following.
Probably careless and stupid....but it sure is fun.

Yes it is fun! stacks just lay the smoke down so much more even. And seeing it waft over the hood and windshield of those behind is beautiful enough to make a grown man......laugh out loud!!
My guess is that the cite was written as a violation re
a smog law. I don't know what particular laws that ya all have but in Cali they catcha smokin' they write a smog violation, diesel or not, then you have to pay to have it smog checked.
Even if there is no fine there is still the "Hassel Factor"
