Won't start?

The key just stays turned over , but I know it isn't my ignition lock cylinder because it turns on all the lights in the dash , it's a 89 ford f250 7.3 idi , 5 speed

are you trying to say when you turn the key to start nothing at all happens?
if yes, try jumping the fender mounted starter relay. if the starter engages, then try putting a test light to the small terminal on the starter relay and turn the key to start.
if the test light lights up, change the starter relay.

Do you hear a click from the engine compartment? You replaced the ignition switch, did you make sure it was adjusted correctly? If it was placed too far down on the column the ignition tumbler will not have enough travel to provide power to the start solenoid.
