I'm having a problem with getting my truck to start constantly, its a 1987 F250 460ci Carbureted 4 speed. I started the truck a few days ago and then I went out about 5 mins later to move it and it would not start, I put a new starter solenoid on it and it still wouldn't start, I checked wiring, the starter and thought maybe it needed a starter, and also I have no dash lights. The truck also has a push button start you need no key just turn ignition switch forward push in clutch and push starter button. When I say no dash lights I mean turn ignition switch on all the way and nothing part way it dings but if I push start button turn on headlights anything dinging stops let up it comes back. And now for the weirdest part I went out this morning starts right up, turn it off and on several times, I went out a couple hours later it won't start again and no lights.
I figured out the problem it was a bad batt negative to ground cable but I also went ahead and replaced the batt positive to switch cable and the switch to starter cable. I now it starts right up
