I have a 2003 SD 6.0 FX4. It has 202,000 miles. I have no tuner on the truck and I have not upgraded head bolts. I've had a good bit of work done on the truck since I bought it in November of 2013
1) Do I need a tuner to fully delete the EGR from the trucks computer?
2) When I first start the truck in the mornings it will run rough for a half mile unless I let it sit for 2-3 minutes before I start driving. What could cause this?
3) When I shift from park to reverse it won't move unless I put it in drive and then back into reverse. What will fix this?
4) I have the esof and auto hubs. If I put it in 4wd, it will shift into it but it won't shift back out. I've installed a new motor on the side of the transfer case and check all wiring and fuses. What else should I check?
5) when I bought the truck I had to replace the passenger side mirror. After the install I replaced the fuse that controls the mirrors but it instantly blew the fuse. What can I check to correct this?
6) The inside dome light will stay illuminated until I've switched the key odd and it has sat for 15-20, plus my door a jar light is on too.
1) Likely you can delete the EGR cooler without needing a tuner since you have an 03
2) Injector Stiction or low FICM volts

4) Low vacuum from a leak
5) OEM or Chinese mirror?
6) Spray WD40 in the door latches
I believe that the shifting in/out of 4x4 is not a vacuum operated action, only the hubs are. It sounds like there is a motor/electrical issue, if I am reading the post correctly anyway (from the statement that shifting into 4x4 works OK).
Cleve Ard - Please verify what you mean. If it is a vacuum leak, then your climate control will go to the defrost mode when the A/C is turned on - does it?
If you did mean that the transfer case does not disengage, then check the two relays by the drivers side battery . They are in a small box 1.5"x3". They are for the shift motor. You can spray some contact cleaner in the plugs to get any gunk or oxidation out.
It will shift into 4hi & 4lo fine. I will have to check and see what it does with the a/c on whether or not it will change to defrost. I'll check the relays first and make sure that the contacts are clean. Also the transfer case does engage.
I've tried backing up to disengage but that didn't work either. I had to manually put the transfer case back into 2wd.
What is a transmission control switch? I put the truck on the scan tool at the auto parts store and tried to perform the keor test, it wouldn't allow it and gave a code for transmission control switch. Didn't know if that could be my problem or something completely different that I need to talk are of.
#6 is possibly due to the safety features built in, my interior and bed lights stay on for about 30 seconds after I get out of it, this was done to allow people to see (somewhat) at night when they get out, also if you have your headlights on auto they will stay on too (20 sec - 3 min).
I do know about the safety features but with the door ajar light on at all times it will keep the dome light on for 10 minutes until the battery protection cuts it off.
I believe I found the problem for my 4wd. At the time I was only checking to verify that I have voltage at the motor. I did. I just pulled the 2 relays out that are on the drivers fender well and they were so corroded that several of the terminals are completely gone. I'll replace them and post what the outcome is. Thanks guys.
On the EGR delete. Do I need to have the block off plate installed or does that matter? I currently don't have it on due to the fact of not knowing what to do with the plug if I did remove the valve? I know that it keeps throwing a code for the egr valve. That's why I was asking if I needed the tuner to delete it out of the computer.
