I recently purchased a 94 150 with the 4.9/6. Truck is in pretty good shape, however it seems to be a little low on power, and the mileage is very low. I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap rotor , and fuel filter. No check engine light. where should I look next. I seems to hesitate or stumble sometimes
and stalls when first started, but only when it is warmed up. any Idea's? Thanks Andy
I'd try ignition coil and/or fuel pumps. I'm not an expert, but those seem to be some of the more common reasons, along with some of the things you already changed.
Do not throw any more parts at the problem until you check for codes. There can be stored codes or other issues that would cause the truck to fail the Key On Engine Off tests WITHOUT having a Check Engine Light(CEL).
OK.I had the computer checked, and no codes at all either in the standing or the running check. Tonight I removed and cleaned the intake air temp sensor. it was really gummed up with carbon. I did the whole thing the right way, and disconnected the battery for a while, then reconnected and drove at different speeds and load to reset the sensor. I'll have to see if this helps. Andy
