E4OD issues

Alright guys I am having some shifting issues with my E4OD in my 97. On my way out camping this weekend (I was not pulling any significant weight/ no trailer)I was driving through some pretty hilly curvy roads which of course was causing the transmission to shift a lot. Well a few miles in the truck starts shifting hard. I pulled over and checked the fluid but it still looked good and was still at the ok mark. After taking back off I noticed that shifting from 1st to 2nd it was perfectly fine. 2nd to 3rd about gave me whiplash and 3rd to OD seemed normal. Now I babied it the last 15 miles to camp and let it sit for the weekend. Well wet to head home today and had some issues with IPR wires crossed and causing the truck to die/ not fire up. Well once we got that issue fixed and got on the road I noticed that not only shifting 2nd to 3rd was extremely hard but 3rd to OD was also very hard now too. Still no problems with 1st to 2nd. So I haven't had time to really check it out just trying to get some opinions on what it could be and things to check/test in the morning. The Check Engine light is on but I believe it was from my IPR issue earlier (I will verify in the morning to verify). Trans is bone stock to my knowledge and I am running an Edge Evolution at the moment. Any ideas?

I haven't heard anything good about the evolution on our trucks. some say they take a 50/50 shot at frying PCM's when the evolution flashes them.

as far as your trans issue is the light on the shifter flashing? the one that comes on when you turn the overdrive off? if the trans stores a code the light in there flashes. if its not flashing you might get in there and when the truck is running hit that button on the end of the shifter and it should light up, if it doesn't the bulb may be faulty or you got other problems. either way id put a code reader on it and see what ya got.

i was towing my car on my equipment trailer total trailer/car weight was probably about 5,000 lbs. and going up hills it seems like the TC unlocks or something because in 4th gear it would go from about 2000 rpm up to 2350 rpm or so without downshifting and felt like a power loss. if it did that for very long it would log code P1728. which is transmission slip fault.

Check engine light were codes from my ipr issue (cam position, keep memory alive) and I cleared them. No flashing od light. It works had over drive shut off on backroads to keep it from shifting more than it had to. I just unhooked the battery in hope to reset everything. If that doesn't work I will take off the edge. And pull the pan and check for debris.
