4r100 transmission(which direction)
My 02 excursion v 10 has about 170k on it ,noticed some trans fluid on inspection hole, did some reading and could be a number of things, seals ,pump ,converter,flywheel damage.it shifts fine and the leak is small . im mechanically inclined to repair all but don't have any experience with this tranny.i know the 4r100 is huge and heavy,i do little to no towing.i don't want to pull it and say replace pump seal and find out days later that is a crappy t/c or another defective component, Maybe just pull the trigger for a new tranny ?(heard once you open them they just have constant problems) Also heard about gear vendors. id like another gear for i do highway traveling mostly.Any advice and experience is greatly appreciated.
