Do I need longer shocks?

Well, I am starting to gather the pieces that I will need to get my 89 F-150 to where I want it. Mostly stock, but I want to level the front end. I see the Day Star Leveling Kits, which seem fairly simple and offer the ease of not playing with the springs. BUT I also see the Leveling kits which are basically a new set of springs...Whish I like, but if I increase the Spring length will I need to change the Shocks? Long story, but I don't have the truck yet, I'll pick it up in October so I can't actually put "Hands On"... I am thinking that lifting the front end 1.5 - 2" will take off that much on the damping of the shocks... Any Ideas?

On mine I just made a little lift blocks for the lower shock mounts using 1" square steel bar.

That's genius... I think I'm gonna try this, my front end seems to be sagging slightly

Just be aware this is not going to lift your front-end by itself, it was just my cheapo way to keep from buying longer shocks when I put higher lift front springs on mine.

I know what you mean. I just installed a 3" rough country lift kit about 3 months ago and the front end is sagging about an inch or so. I'm thinking this and some homemade spring spacers would be all I need to level it out.
