I see by the timeline that I haven't visited in several years.
I finally got rid of my POS '07 SD 6.0. basically gave it away and bought a 1990 XLT Lariat ex. cab 4X4 with a 460. It has a Gale Banks sticker on the door jamb but all I can tell is it has headers and I'm not sure what else. It seems like kind of a dog, but I am going to play with it a little.
That's one thing about the Diesel, lots of torque and power.
The headers go back to a catalytic converter and come out in one 3" pipe with an old Flowmaster. One question I have , do the make a programmer for these older engines?
Thanks, Ken in Az.
I had a couple of Super Duties, an '08 I HATED and an '02 that wasn't enough better. I finally got back into a truck I like to drive with my '97 F-250.
I'm not sure what's available for tuners, but questions about how to wake up the 460 get asked pretty frequently. Cutting the restrictive parts out of the air horns is the easiest and cheapest one. But search on this forum as well as the 460 forum. You'll find more.
By the way, my 460 (with 4.10 gears) has more than enough power for me. I can spin a tire starting on pavement with my slide-in camper on board (doesn't say much for the health of my limited slip...). Mine is bone stock, I haven't even cut out the air horns.
