4) Perf. RPM intake, arp bolts, conversion kit for distributer (425.00)
5) match port intake, exhaust, port heads (200.00 in grinding bits and 2 days to read the proper way to do it)
6)high volume oil pump (90.00)
7) Holley high volume fuel pump (needed bad 100.00)
8) Ford football rods, arp bolts and machine work (375.00)
9) Decking the block (150.00)
10) gaskets, oil, filter, and extras (200.00)
11) Dual stage NOS kit (700.00) stage 1 -50shot, stage 2 -150shot
that should just about do it. I dont think I left anything out? The most important things I learned in this process is the exhaust. Get a cam with longer exhaust duration. It can give you as much as 15-25 hp gain. With the porting and everything I did My peak HP is 490 @ 4650rpm and TQ is 598 @ 4200rpm.
no - I havent put it on the dyno with the NOS. But in the water my boat tops out at 4600rpm, and with the nitrous it went all the way to 5100rpm. That was with a 150 shot. NOS is fun stuff and safe if done correctly.
im running the Lunati LN-00097. But I would change it if I could. Get a cam with a split duration. get something like 224 / 234 @ 50. Just make sure the exhaust is longer. Mine is 234 / 234 @50 and I think the lift is 554 / 554. Look in the Summit Racing catalog.
Ive always heard in small blocks that a single pattern cam is better then a duel pattern cam, I know that I have a duel pattern cam in my 351m right now... its a 224/228 duration @ .50" and .510/.536 of lift..
I dunno I was just curious about that
I just want more power in my truck.. Im planing on taking it off the street for good in the next few years, and I was just wanting a starter 460 that I could build on to later on..
