Question 460 port polished extreme cam HP TQ & Others ?

(Sorry two in a row threads hope I am not breaking any web rules)

460 port polished extreme comp cam, 9.5 CC, iron heads, stock intake and exhaust manafolds, edlelbrk 750cfm., new comp springs, stock rockers(soon as possible roller rockers, stealth intake, headers) 5.13 gears, don't do rock so am going to 3.54s, and now have235s 85R16s, soon going to 315 85R16. As it is above I figure around max 350 HP and max TQ 450? What do you think on the HP/tq estimates. I don't have a clue on the estimate on cooresponding RPMs. Any guesses on cooresponding Rpms.


6.8L V10 HP TQ: max 310 HP, Max 425 TQ


6.0L PSD TurboD HP TQ: max 325 hp @ 3300, max 560 tq @ 2000


460 Turbo Gas HP TQ??: Its only apples to apples when comparing to TurboD. Please try a guess here. How much cost for a Turbo or $ ahead to do more extreme on a straight 460?

And just for kicks how much HP/TQ from a Turbo Gasser around 6.0L V6 or V8?

I would think the above would take a Ford engine guru to know?

Which bump stick part # are you using, the extreme 4x4 or just the plain extreme? I have the extreme 4x4 cam in mine with the stealth intake, headers, and 91cc iron heads, I am pulling roughly 487hp and 537tq. Just remember to port match your intake to your heads. Makes a world of difference. The RPM's will vary depending on the balance job of the rotating assembly. Mine the power band is from 2200-6200. But I know I can go high in my RPM's if I wanted too. I just wouldn't be making much more power.

4x4 extreme.

Also,(off the subject but...) Any difference between a Stock DOVE intake manafold and a D4VE intake manafold? I mean one beter than the other?

I had screw in studs, guide plates, stainless steel 2.19I & 1.76E valves, 3 angle valve job, smog bump removed, a little chamber polishing, .010 mill, some intake port matching, bronze guides, machining for teflon valve seals, spring pocket matching, and some casting flash removal done on mine. I didn't have to unshroud the valves any. There was plenty of room around the valves. Oh I did do some port work by removing any sharp angles and raised the exhaust port roof a little bit. I didn't want to chance grinding too much off and busting through into the water jacket.

Opps forgot to mention that dual valve springs with a rotator spring. LOL Looks like I am running triple springs but I am not. Also I installed roller rockers from CAT. Nice piece and they are pretty inexpensive. $159 for the set and comes with the locking nuts.

As for your question for the intakes, your better off getting an aftermarket one to keep up with the increased flow demands. If you read the specs that came with your cam it gives you suggested items to swap out. I believe they are the intake, TQ convertor, headers, and rear end gears. Otherwise you aren't doing much good if you put that cam in and expect it to run like a big dog. There is a 4 inch height difference between my stock intake and my Stealth intake, not to mention the port size is slightly larger. You can run anything that will increase your flow. I just don't like the Edlebrock stuff. Way too many people run it. I want people to say "WOW!!" instead of "gee nice" when my hood is popped open.

460 port polished extreme cam HP TQ & Others ?

I just got my boat motor done and running. I went with the Lunati cam LN-00097. Dove-c heads ported and polished, Performer RPM manifold port matched, Ported exhaust manifolds and heads to match exhaust gaskets. Holley 750. I am running log type exhaust with it. Also added NOS cheater kit at 150hp shot.

Had the block decked .035 and .015 taken off the heads. Compression is at 10:1 with a tight quench(very important!!)
Ford heavy duty rods(oval bolt), stock cast pistons, stock crank(turned).

I can tell you the most important theng on the 460 is the exhaust. If you can put bigger exhaust valves with the stock intake valves. I should have did it and sheaped out. Now Im wishing I did. By doing a little porting on the heads(exhaust) and bigger valves - you can raise your hp by as mush as 40hp. very much worth the $.

My peak HP is 490 @ 4650rpm and TQ is 598 @ 4200rpm.

In my jet boat with the new pump work it pulled to 4600rpm (72 mph)- on the bottle it pulled to 5150rpm (not sure on mph - but was pretty scarry) .

I know your not building a boat, but the numbers might interest you.
