Hello I have an 02 lincoln navigator v8 the over drive light keeps blinking and when I put it in first sometimes it will put and do 5 miles an hour or do nothing but rev up the motor it works in 1st and reverse.
I was hoaping if it was possible I found an 02 sensor behind the trans that two of the wires were ripped out. Could it be possible that it touched ground and caused my navigator to go in limp mode or am I just praying for a simple fix and in reality I need a new transmission?
The first 4 codes have to do with the tranny, so check for damaged wiring running to it.
The next 8 codes have to do with the EVAP system and the O2 sensors. For the EVAP it could be as simple as a loose gas cap. For the O2 code, well you might've already found that problem. The 304 code is a misfire on cylinder #4 (back one passenger side) and the 401 code means there isn't enough EGR flow happening. That could be due to a bad EGR valve or simple the ports behind the valve are clogged.
Ok so I found the problem I found 3 ball bearings in my control valve passage way in my trans can someone tell me where they came from I'm hoping it's not eternal damage from the trans I cleaned it up put everything back together filled it up with tranny fluid and the blinking od light went off and truck is driving in D now
