Dash *****

1964 F100

I bought a new vent cable pull.

The **** they sent me is a C1TZ-9700. It has a threaded end, the cable is a push on. What **** do I need?

Is the vent **** the same **** as the wiper switch? I need one of those too.

I have two pulls under the dash for the heater. The right **** has an insert that says heat, there is no insert on the left ****. Are those inserts available?

9700 is choke cable. They must have sent you a choke ****.

Wiper **** is base part number 17513. For 1964 F100

C1TF-17513-A - Windshield wiper control - black plastic with white center

Try Dennis Carpenter if NOS isn't critical

Windshield Wiper **** | Dennis Carpenter Ford Restoration Parts

The "HEAT" and "TEMP" inserts are not reproduced as far as I know. Only hope on those would be NOS or used.

Vent **** is plain insert. Chrome bezel says "AIR". You could use a **** that has a set screw built in. Not sure if they reproduce those or not.

A bit rushed for time, but I'll try to research the vent **** a bit more and see what I can turn up.

Are you just replacing a cable on the drivers side?

My 66 did not have the cables so I didn't know what I needed.

The 64 had a left cable that worked but didn't look nice. I had a hole on the right side.

I ordered two cables.

When I removed the left cable I saw that the dash hole was much smaller than the right hole. Turns out the right hole isn't for the vent cable, the PO had something else there.

I replaced the left cable and then "refurbished" the old bezel/****, cut the cable off, used a fender washer, and filled the right side hole with a dummy cable.

I have a couple other problems, I need to post a pic.

No such thing, choke **** only furnished with the cable.

Ford did not sell the inserts by themselves, were only furnished with the *****.

These two ***** were only used with the deluxe fresh air heater...cables attach to a bracket...located under the dash to the right of the steering column.

I bought the cable from DC and the **** was not included.

DC is sending me **** C1TZ-17513. They say it will work on both the vent cable and wiper switch.

Oh, so when you said "They" you weren't necessary talking about Ford? Oh, you didn't even mean Ford at all. Ya, I got that. Lol.

Dennis Carpenter has the inserts. They are a couple bucks but shipping is $10 for orders under a $100 so you will want to order something else you need.

can i hijack this thread and ask a question about these *****? How do you take the dang things off without breaking them? I'm worried that the PO super glued them on.

***There's the type of **** that slides onto the shaft and locks in position by a concentric clip inside the ****. Being very gentle, there's a small opening on the underside of the **** and using a 'mini' type screw driver; or something similar, insert the tool into this slot thus releasing the tension; it should not require any pressure, usually just by inserting the tool the **** should come right off; if not, then gentle move the tool towards the seat and the **** should come off?? These old ***** tend to get brittle so suggest use a tool that is flat and small that will fit into this 'slot' and do not use force or likely damage the ****?? This is a sad attempt to explaining how to remove, if there's a spare one can look at this clip and the procedure would be perfectly clear.

The headlight switch: **** and shaft are 1 piece, there's a button on top, occasionally bottom, of the light switch one needs to depress while pulling the unit out. To install just insert the shaft/**** in to the switch.

The original vent and chock cables on my 65 come as a unit, not sure about aftermarket replacements, may have to purchase separate???

As original:

The headlamp switch **** & shaft is a one piece assembly. Depending on the year/serial number, there are two different shaft lengths: One type is 2 1/4" long, t'other is 3 3/16" long.

The wiper switch **** was furnished by itself, it's retained to the switch w/a #8 -32 headless set screw.

The lighter **** was only furnished with the element. The choke cable **** was only furnished with the cable.

The heater blower switch **** was furnished by itself, it's the same as the wiper switch ****.

Optional deluxe fresh air heater has two cables attached to a bracket, located under the dash to the right of the steering column. The two ***** (Heat & Temp) were furnished by themselves.

If so equipped, the air vent ***** were only furnished with the cables, which are the same right/left.
