Have read that the stock antifreeze is not the best choice after a flush. Better choices?? Also, in my search for the best replacement parts (EGR and oil coolers) I came across a company that claims that for $149 they will take my FICM and kick it from 48v to 58v and that will give me 40 more HP. Seems like a stretch. And finally, am considering the Sinister oil cooler and the Bulletproof EGR cooler. Thoughts

Only let Ed at FICM.com work on tiw Ficm. He used to do the 58volt thing but decided it wasn't a good idea after numerous failures from stressed components.
General consensus is ELC Cat-1 coolant. It's what international uses in their 6.0s. That's why I use it.
Several fte users have reported higher EOTs with the sinister oil cooler. Seems there are less channels in the sinister cooler so they allow for lower chance of clogging.
Most agree to stick with the eom oil cooler or go with a BPD external oil cooler.
At $2200, I'll be waiting for the BPD external unit. I see that BPD does sell the OEM oil cooler with none other offered. As a newby to the diesel world, and having read so much about the OEM oil cooler, isn't there an option that wouldn't require a guaranteed replacement down the road?

Keep the coolant system very, very clean and the oil cooler will last a long time. I replaced mine 7k miles ago after a coolant flush and coolant filter. My delta are up. I am replacing the oil cooler bypass valve and will be flushing the oil cooler when I get out off.
The biggest, and only, design issue with this engine in my opinion is the oil cooler is 1/2 the size it should be.

Are you saying that it is possible to clean the oil cooler of debris once it is removed?
What would one do? A soak?
Depends. I think I have an oil cooler bypass valve problem. I'm going to rinse the oil cooler while I'm in there.
I did two coolant system flushes before I replaced the oil cooler last year trying to get my deltas down. It didn't work. After I saw the old oil cooler upon removal, I am convinced I would have never gotten it clean. Too much oil residue and gunk.
The new oil cooler now in the truck has less than 7k miles on it. I also know my coolant system is clean enough to drink out of. Thus, I'm convinced I can clean the new oil cooler once it's out.
