460 compatability

I have a 1995 plow truck with a 460 with a cracked block and a 1988 truck with a 460 in it. Can I put the 460 from the 1988 into the 1995 if I use the wiring harness from the 95? Do I still need the computer off the 88?

I believe you can install that 460 in the 95 with out any major issues. Using the 95 ecm and wiring. The worst you might have to move some stuff over from the bad motor.

Yes you can swap motors but there is absolutly no reason to change any wiring or the computer. You will need to use the '95 distributor in the '88 motor.

Its an easy swap. There will be a few sensors that will be different but you can splice the wire harness. I took an 89 and put in a 94 Bronco. What comes to mind is the T.P.S. was a different style. Same three color wire, so I just cut and spliced on the 89 to my 94 wire harness. Good luck with your swap.
