My truck has this cool retro looking gauge pod mounted on the steering column. It has a front and back and is made of metal. I have never seen one like it Im guessing its from the 60s or 70s.
I would like to replace the non matching gauges with a matching set.
Im thinking oil and water in the pod, amps and a tach in the speedo cluster.
Is there a nicer looking hose clamp that I can use?
Im going more for looks over function. I need to find a tach and gauge set that will blend with the speedo. I don't want to spend a lot, I have to many other projects that need $.
I also have overspray on the shift indicator. Any idea what I can use to get it off without damaging the plastic? Im guessing the overspray has been there for several years.
You could check out autometer.com you may see something that works for you.
Also, something I have been wondering about for a while. I thought Custom Cabs always came with the sweep speedo, and the standard cab had the round ones like you have?
I need the glass on the front of the main gauge, I'm thinking I may have get it out and have cut somewhere or use plexi. Mines cracked straight across, looks like crap.

These turn up on eBay from time to time. I bought one there a few weeks back.
Let me look up the part number and see if any are out there.
Part number C1TF-10880-A. It's 6 1/8" diameter. There are some available NOS. Prices might not be great, but call around and see if you can find a deal. I didn't pay $40 each. Maybe $20 for two.
If you want to get one cut just measure the glass thickness. It's probably about 1/8" thick as a guess. I can measure one tonight if you want so you could have it cut before you take it apart and then it's just a matter of swapping real quick. It is sandwiched in there between the bezel and the speedo cluster. I've taken apart a few and never any stickum or dum-dum or anything in there to reduce rattling. If it rattles it's not sandwiched right most likely.

Try OOOO steel wool and lighter fluid. Pledge furniture polish works well to shine plexiglas and fill in fine scratches. Might even try that first with the steel wool to remove the paint.
