Most of my questions lately has been related to my truck sitting for a while. Changed oil last night (and think I noticed it the other day). Seems like my analog gauges are acting sticky or jumpy . Like May be dust or something in them. Has anyone else seen this? After the oil change , pressure was 70 idling and like ten minutes later was 100. Cut truck off and back to 70. That was just my pressures, gauges still see to act erratic. Thanks
I have come across this on engines useing dino oils and fuels.
When sitting up for a while a type of varnish will form causeing what you describe.
What I do before putting a engine back in service I will circulate a strong soloution of fuel treatments thru the lubrication system and then dump and replace with fresh oil and fuel. Trying to dilute the varnishes and parrifins build up.
Keep in mind this dilution will be below normal lubrication levels and you will not want to just leave them in there for real long or run the engine hard.
