Gauges: Mechanical VS. Electrical

I just wanted to know what kind of experiences some of you have had with these different types of gauges. I have always run mechanical but recently have been running into trouble with the plastic tube sending unit busting under high pressure on my oil gauge. The part I dont like is having oil leaking into the cab. I have considered using copper tubing but it seems to be getting harder to find for this application. I have also noticed how electrical gauges are cheaper? I thought it was the other way around, or someone got their prices mixed up. Are electrical gauges as accurate? Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Derick.

People who say it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

Electrical gauges are just as accurate as mechanical, but a lot easier to install and no worry of oil leakage. The only advantage of the mechanical is it will work when the ignitiion is off and sometimes they have a wider sweep of the needle.
